Happy Easter

Chaika came up from Carlisle yesterday, with 4 kids in the back seat of the truck. She now rests in the Carville driveway, and the humans pushed on to Arrowsic. Breakfast this morning featured mini-donuts mixed by Sam, with enhancements by Maggie. Many went to mass, and then there was an egg hunt at the McGraths. Dinner at the Crotch featured ham and little potatoes that were a big hit. The obligatory game of Pickle followed, and the departure. My goodness, how quiet it is tonight.

Moon Over Damariscove

What a sight it was to see the "pink moon" rise above Damariscove tonight! There was a goodly crowd on hand at Reid State Park to see it.

This is Good Friday, but neither in person nor on the TV did I hear anyone mention it.

Eloi, Eloi, Lama Sabachthani?

Hoops fallout, ugh

Grandma ended up in the top 2% in the NCAA Bracket Challenge. Only a few thousand did better. She had the final two and the winner. Your bloggah? Not so much. Only 194,000 did better (54%). Maybe next year.
An overcast day this was with little to recommend it, except a pleasant walk around Indian Point with the McIlvains. This evening we have the pleasure of two small yout's while the parents attend Glitterati in Portland.

Back in Maine

We are delighted to see a lovely day unfolding back at The Crotch.  Our Martha's Vineyard pictures are not so great, but here they are. Laundry to do and still some picking up around the yard, although the early spring gave us a big headstart. The grass is greening up, and I am going to transplant some pachysandra.

Back to FC

Yesterday ended with a pleasant tour of and dinner in the very funky Oak Bluffs. And today we ferried back to Woods Hole, and drove home, with a stop in Charlestown to visit the Quattlebaums. EQ is just back from spring training with some foreboding reports about the Red Sox. But that's him.
It is good to be back. Looking downriver as the light illuminates the blue water reminds me that we saw nothing more beautiful on Martha's Vineyard. But it was a very good trip, one which we shall perhaps repeat.

Bleak start

Rain last night and today it is clouded over. But after yesterday's big tour, a lazy start is welcome. We are very pleased with our accomodation at the Mansion House and we are enjoying MV a lot.

Martha's Vineyard

We had a great day touring the island. Fine weather and very impressive scenery everywhere. Marnie's birthday!
